Rei felt how his heart just fell to the bottom of his stomach. “I….I” I love you he should have said.

“If that’s really what you want…you should do it.” He said instead and could see how his one and only chance with Nagisa slowly drifting away.
“It’s your life so I can’t tell you what to do…but I am pretty sure that there is tons of other guys who like you.”

Nagisa giggled a little. “You’re kidding… right? Guys would never like me. I mean I don’t even know why that boy over there likes me. Maybe he thinks it will get him free coffee or something.” He awkwardly scratched his head, looking away. Nagisa’s own words sprouted a saddening thought in his mind, and tears began to well up in his eyes. “No… nobody is ever going to love me. I… I guess it’s him or no-one…” Nagisa had practically accepted his fate, and moped back over to the other boy, sitting down with him again.
